Suzuki at SEMA

The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) kicked off its annual show at the Las Vegas Convention center today with a host of companies displaying all sorts of goodies. Among the manufacturers putting on displays was Suzuki, a company best known for its sport bikes. However, this year Suzuki took the emphasis off of two-wheels and put it on four.
Showing a total of 5 vehicles (all with four wheels) the American Suzuki Motor Corporation’s (ASMC) display is aimed at showing their commitment to the automotive market. While not the first name that pops into your head when you think “car”, Suzuki actually has some pretty interesting and dare I say cool vehicles to tantalize the masses.

Probably their best vehicle at the show is the concept Suzuki Zuk. Based on their current SX4 platform the Zuk is definitely in the “hot hatch” category. However, its influences are more motorcycle than car with a blend of GSX-R and Hyabusa exterior styling cues. The Zuk is motivated by a 300 horsepower turbo charged/intercooled two liter four-banger; more than enough power for such a small vehicle.
If their SEMA offering is any indicator American Suzuki may have an exciting future.
Stay tuned for more SEMA updates.
