Ford giving away a Taurus and Taurus X on Extreme Makeover

Ford is giving away a 2008 Taurus and a 2008 Taurus X on ABC’s Extreme Makeover tomorrow night.

If those cars look familiar, you’ve been paying attention to Ford for the past couple years. The Taurus is a rebadged version of the Five Hundred, and the Taurus X is a rebadged version of the Freestyle.

This is interesting to folks following the downtrodden automaker that is Ford these days. Just last year, Ford announced that they had decided to kill the Taurus, which went into production over twenty years ago. Since the Taurus had only been gone for about two months before Ford announced it’s return, this might be the strangest case of decision remorse ever seen in an automakers.

While I certainly applaud Ford’s generosity, it’s not like they don’t get a pretty decent amount of exposure for the launch (relaunch?) of these two vehicles. I’m sure the $40K or so coming out of Ford’s pocket for these two vehicles is cheaper than a comparable amount of commercial air time.

    Now my brother have move back down south for his health, and left here he were very sick, he is asking for me, it not easy to travel their without a car with gas milages.
